What is Leica Webserver and how to connect to it?


The Leica Webserver interface enables direct communication between a PC and GNSS Rovers (GS08+, GS14, GS15, GS16, GS18T, GS18) via either a wired connection using the GEV234 cable or a wireless link over Bluetooth. 

 

The following will outline the steps in connecting to the Leica webserver from a PC with the are two recommended methods of connection:

1. GEV234 Cable
2. Bluetooth

 

Before connecting, determine the architecture of the PC connecting:

From the Microsoft Windows “Search Bar” enter in System Information and select the application and find the System Type 


Based on the computers architecture, download the appropriate Windows Drivers from Leica MyWorld: 

x64 = Windows 64 Bit Driver
x86 = Windows 32 Bit Driver
IA-64 = Windows 64 Bit itanium Driver
Download the Windows Driver from the links to the left.

Install the GS, TS/TM/MS, CS and GR Driver to the PC:

Option 1: GEV234 - Cable

Connect the cable from the computer to the GNSS sensor.

 

Open a web browser

 

Enter http://192.168.254.2 into the address bar. The Webserver page should be displayed as shown

 

Option 2: Bluetooth

Open Bluetooth & Other devices settings page.

 

Select "Add device" or “Add Bluetooth or other devices option” Note: This procedure may differ slightly depending on the version of Windows installed

 

Select Bluetooth as the Device and select the GS Sensor.
Note: Typically demoted as GS####### where ####### = to the GS Serial number

 

Enter 0000. (If a PIN is required for the GS)

 

Open a web browser.

 

Then enter http://192.168.253.2 into the address bar. The Webserver page should be displayed as shown
