Preface:
Registering your GS05 to your Leica MyWorld account is important as it is a crucial step in license activation.  In addition, Leica MyWorld (https://myworld-portal.leica-geosystems.com/) is Leica Geosystems’ online platform that provides 24/7 access to essential information, allowing users to actively manage their equipment and services.

Any GS05 unit displaying an Activation Status of “Update Required” on its product page must be connected to the Internet. Once the connection is established, the status should update to “Complete.”

Steps to connect GS05 to the Internet:

1. Turn on the GS05.
2. Connect to a CS20 controller or Leica Captivate tablet (CC30,CC180,CC200,etc) 

3. On the controller or tablet:
Go to Settings/Connections/All other connections/GS connections/GS WLAN and configure GS WLAN to establish an Internet connection.
OR
Go to Settings/Connections/All other connections/GS connections/GS internet and configure GS internet to establish an Internet connection.

4. Once the Internet connection is established, the licenses will get activated immediately.  This process may require approximately 2 to 3 minutes to complete, depending on the speed of your internet connection.
